(Sayyidi/Sidi). Within tariqa this title is only given to the one who breaks your fetters and sets you free. Sayyidi is therefore, the Murshid, Shaykh or Pir of the murid. The mashayekh of the turuq, all of whom are Inheritors of the Prophet Muhammad, are addressed and spoken of as Sayyidi. No other deserves the title of Sayyidi.
