(Mu'amalat). Social transactions, dealings, interactions and conduct. Whoever claims to be a sincere follower of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (May the Salutations of Allah be upon him and Peace) and believes in him and his Teaching and in his Inheritors must follow his beautiful model (uswa hasana) in totality. Islam must be applied to every aspect of life, inwardly and outwardly. His worship, his social transactions (mu'amalat), his knowledge and the practising of his knowledge must reflect the Beauty and Wisdom of Islam.
(Qist). The qist is the state possessed by existence. Were Allah to drop this Just Scale from His Hand for even an instant the entire cosmos would be utterly annihilated. In the same way as Allah keeps hold of the Just Scale, so too does His Slave hold tightly to the Scale of the Law which Allah established as the means by which man can attain to Knowledge, Felicity, Gentleness and Mercy in this world and in the Hereafter.
(Mizan). The scale or the balance. The Sacred Law is the scale in which must be weighed everything pertaining to Allah, to knowledge, to spiritual realization, to love and to the human state. The traveller on the Path of Return is required to purify himself, through spiritual endeavour, in order to achieve this balance which Allah has established.
(Amanat). The Trust was offered to the heavens and the earth, but they refused to carry it, but mankind accepted the Trust. The Trust is to act as a locus of manifestation of the All-Comprehensive Name 'Allah'. The Perfect Man is the one who fulfills this Trust and in so doing becomes worthy of being Allah's representative on this earth.
(Hikma). Justice ('Adl) is 'putting everything in its proper place'. Wisdom (Hikma), which is closely connected to justice, is 'to act as is proper to each situation'. To be able to act in such a manner it is necessary to have discernment of relationships. Wisdom is the perfect balance of knowledge and practice. It is the sign of the perfect friends of Allah and is possessed, in its highest degree, by the People of Blame (Al Malamatiyya).
