Wasi
Caretaker

(Wasi). In general usage, this word is similar to the executor of a will' or 'bequest'. In Tariqa, this title is given as a direct appointment by the Shaykh to one who is responsible for looking after the affairs of the Zawiyya and endeavouring to bring success to the Centre. It is the higher manifestation of the 'Trustee-ship' (of the Wakeel) of the Zawiyya and contains tremendous blessing and baraka from above. As Allah has said in the Holy Qur'an: 2:132 "And this very thing did Abraham bequeath (Wasa) unto his children, and [so did] Jacob: "O my children! Behold, Allah has granted you the purest faith; so do not allow death to overtake you except in a sate of (the higher) Islam. The 'Wasi' and 'the Wakeel' are very closely related, but ''Wasi' is of a higher ranking and carries with it tremendous blessing and responsibility.
