There are many things in today's world, which are designed
specifically to distract us and keep us away from finding that
which is Real. The aim of the Almiraj Sufi and Islamic Study
Centre is to provide an environment where true seekers of knowledge
can come and be filled with the pure, spiritual food of Islam,
without superstition, fairytales or artificial teachings.
Almiraj Sufi and Islamic Study Centre and Sufi Books of Broken Hill
are connected to the Burhaniyya - Dasuqiyya - Shadhiliyya Tariqa
of North Africa, and the table that is set encompasses all of
the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, may the peace and
blessings of Allah be upon him. There are many books available
for study, written by saintly teachers throughout the history
of Islam. The most important foundation to build upon is that
of the Holy Qur'an, the verified hadiths and the science of
Prophethood (what the Holy Prophet(peace be upon him) implemented
upon his own self).
The spiritual director of the Study Centre is
Murshid F. A. Ali ElSenossi (more information)
and it is under his guidance and supervision that we travel
this Path to Allah.
The goals of the Centre are:
- To introduce Islam in its totality to the
community.
- To work with the spiritual psychological
teaching of Islam (Tasawwuf) so that the higher teaching of
the Unity of Allah will be explained clearly to all who seek
to know Allah through the teaching of Islam.
- To hold weekly meetings of the Sufi Study
Group.
- To give talks to community groups, schools,
colleges and universities to introduce the spiritual psychological
teaching of Islam (Tasawwuf).
- To donate books to libraries, colleges,
universities and schools and through the Bookshop to provide
access to literature on all aspects of Islamic teaching. Special
emphasis is placed on the study of personal development through
works on Islamic Sufism, which have been written by eminent,
highly respected Muslims from around the world.
- To publish, in English, contemporary accounts
of journeys within Tasawwuf to demonstrate the relevance of
this great teaching to the people of today's Western societies
(Centre Books).
- To find a suitable channel of communication
with all other organisations and systems of personal development,
and we have found that the development of the Self through the
teaching of Islamic Sufism is the best way to introduce Islam.
- And, most of all, to build bridges between
human beings and the societies they form so that harmony and
peace will prevail. Islam - peace - both inward and outward
- will be the order of the day.
- To be connected in any way to this great Teaching
- the final Message of Allah to mankind - is a great blessing
and an honour. If you are fortunate enough to find yourself
in this situation, thank Allah profusely for the opportunity
that He has given you to purify yourself and walk the Path that
leads to Him.
